Flobots - Handlebars

I was listening to this a few months ago and really enjoying it.
I guess its classed as hip hop though with a proper muscial agenda, which Old Skool Hip Hop used to have.

Its getting so much radio play at moment, which is good and annoying at the same time.
The videos is very good and its a clever little concept of 2 friends who split paths one going down the road of (C) Corruption and the Corporation and the other staying in his small time neighbourhood where you have local shops and simplicities.
The young lad who makes the big time is corrupted with power and greed while the other lad finds his neighbourhood losing its freedom and simplicity with the advancing power of the city and its multinationals want to redevelop this simple neighbourhood.

The people rebel and conflicts start ending with the young friend who fought for his neighbourhood being killed and his old friend filled with the power and corruption finding his old friends blood on his hands.

It has many meanings, take it how you will.
I like to see it as a taking of peoples freedoms which has been happening for centurys.
From the Native Americans and Mexicans who lost their lands, to tribes from South America and Africa whos land is slowly being destroyed or taken, and then theirs the new form of taking power of a country by sanctions, economical control and forcing or rigging to get in controllable leaders.

Oh! I say getting all political... But nice song.
