just seen an add for this, is this the hollywood re make of [rec] does anyone know? looks very very similar (actually identical!) just wondered

Says in Empire its an American remake of REC,and if you have seen REC then don't bother as REC is far superior

I bet it was,wasn't expecting what i did really as i thought it would be a run of the mill zombie flick

actually Quarantine is probably the only example of a remake being better than the original - because of the lead actress - can't think of her name (she was in Emily Rose and is on Dexter) - she acts scared very very well.

The only other difference is unless you speak Spanish you can't read all the newspapers tacked on the wall - but in the remake you can.

Having said that I hate re-makes - they are suppose to be remaking The Evil Dead - nothing is sacred and for what its worth The Evil Dead was already remade (Evil Dead 2) Raimi himself claimed it was a remake as he was unhappy with some of the scenes in the original (re tree rape)

I think this film was great and I really did think she was shitting herself, I cant comment tho as I have not seen REC but will be checking it out soon.. Might have to was Quarantine again soon..

Great film and really worth watching, at least once...

i've only seen REC but it was great, watched it at the cinema and the subtitles really add something to it i thought, worth a look

Dong make sure you have a look at Quarantine, its worth it mate just for the ending, holy shit I can safely say I would of shit and pissed my pants if I was in that situation... Gonna watch this tonight

Yea i gotta say i hate it when its always a f-ing happy ending, at least this one aint... But then I could add that when watching the film you sometimes think, NOOOoo you just would not do that for example the guys that come in to the building with assualt rifles but then get jumped. They drop there guns and about 2-3 people could of easily picked up the guns and legged it.... WHY?????

But still worth a watch

I wasn't a fan of either REC or quarantine, liked the ending but that sort of thing has been done befor. It was nice for a low budget movie just not quite worth all the hype.
I do like nasty ending though like the Mist another film that was alright but thending was top banana

The Mist is well worth a watch just for the end

Big problem with The Mist is that the first creature you see is the most appalling CGI I've seen in years.
It was horrid, and really lowered my expectations. Luckily, after that, it picked up again.

Yeah the CGI was wonky in places it could have been a TV movie and as it was an old book it was just horror cliche after horror cliche with the army dude that wanted to leave the army to be with that girl who never did anything with her life in a small nowhere town

But the ending made it!

I find a lot of Stephen King stuff is like that though!

It was very Lovecraftian as well, I thought. Even a hint of Half-life.

The end was good!
