QUANTUM OF SOLACE

I watched 'Casino Royale' many times. I think 4 times in all. I watched this movie with the same hope, but I found it a little bit disappointing. I'm not sure why to be honest because Daniel Craig is a brilliant actor, but the storyline to me was a bit all over the place. Maybe I might have to watch this one again, but didn't come away feeling like this was the greatest of bond movies.

How far will Bond go?

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond in ‘Quantum of Solace’. Bond has made his latest mission personal after the love of his life, Vesper, betrayed him for a secret organisation that he and M now need to investigate.

Bond’s investigation takes him to Austria, Italy and South America, where he discovers that an important player in the secret organization is planning to give control of South America to associates within the CIA and the British Government.

‘Quantum of Solace’ introduces the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman with her own vendetta, who leads Bond straight to this organization.

‘Quantum of Solace’ shows the dark side of Bond in his quest to find out more about this organization and why the woman he loved betrayed him.

I'm glad you were disappointed with this, so I wasn't the only one.


After it was released I had lengthy discussions on this film, and basically I found that it didn't feel like Bond whatsoever. They've taken the success of films such as Bourne and tried to apply that to the 007 series - but in doing so, have completed avoided many of the things that make Bond Bond. Most notably ..... WHERE WAS Q? :[

And also, it felt like they spent far too long pondering how they could get across that he isn't perfect (As this is meant to be his second mission), instead of actually writing a storyline.

Lots of disappointments here, I'm only hoping that for the next one they decide to bring back the Bond formula.

Enjoyed Casino Royale though thought it was a little over-rated. As I think people was sooo happy that Mr Craig had got Bond back on track after the last few awful Bonds, that they saw this as the best Bond ever.
For me it was good but in comparison to other similar films (bourne etc) it wasnt as good. Not a bad film at all though (7/10)...

I had been looking forward to this new Bond film. But getting very mixed reviews...Funny thing is press seem to be praising it while fanbase is saying its meh! alright.
Thank god for the grapevine of chit-chat.
I'll rent this when its released...
