Hans Blix Would Testify Against Bush-Cheney War Crimes
On their History Rewrite Tour, Bush and Cheney insist the pre-war intelligence about Iraq's WMD's was bad and they were innocent dupes.
Of course we all know the truth from the Downing Street Memos and dozens of other sources, which is that "the intelligence and facts were fixed" around the policy of invasion. And here's one more damning piece of evidence, courtesy of Roads to Iraq.
Just don't fly anywhere for a while and cook your own food.
Won't ever go to a supreme court, but I can always hope. But why would it when Reagan got away with his crap in central america, Nixon in Vietnam and Clinton with yugoslavia among many more...One rule of law and its Americas law.

It's the same story from everyone else - Bush and Cheney demanded pro-war lies under one threat or another - being defamed, getting fired, and even outing covert CIA operatives:
In an interview with a news channel today, former Chief of the UN weapons inspectors in Iraq told the TV that he and the Head of the IAEA “Mohamed Al-Baradei” were subjected to direct threats from Dick Cheney before the war.
Blix said that Cheney threatened to defame both men’s reputations if they didn’t come up with the “required” answers.
You go, Hans!
Blix also added that he is ready to be a witness on the United States’ false allegations before an International tribunal.

Re: Hans Blix Testify Against Bush/Cheney
I agree Dong about Sadaam.
But I look at it like this, Iraq is far worse now than it was under him.
Not only do they have sunni's, shiites and other militias fighting amongst themselves and the occupiers but the country is being raped of its resources.
Also please remember that Sadaam was hugely supported and helped put into power by the USA when Iraq were at war with Iran via CIA and funding the Iraq army, which ahd no chance against Iran.
America uses the old divide and conquer trick.
Another example, the Taliban was hugely financed via CIA & US funds when the Soviets was trying to conquer Afghanistan and the Soviets would have turned Afghanistan into a communistic region. Now the USA battle the Taliban after they helped build and fund it years ago.
Also their are dictators around teh world that have done far far worse than Sadaam or Milosevic of (Yugoslavia) but they were both hunted down and their countries invaded. But many countries in Africa and for example Chile with Pinochet who get tonnes of aid from USA, and are ruled by evil men with terrible humans-rights records, but because they enforce some pretend democracy the USA is happy...
Its like Mugabe in Zimbabe (if mugabe brought in democarcy and free markets you watch the USA change its stance), I dont like him but the US spin stories on it being his fault the country has hyper-inflation when the truth is its the IMF and world banks putting in controls to starve the country. Maybe it'll create a revolt amongst the people but i doubt it. Mugabe was a hero to many zimbabweans as he helped the people rise and chuck out the colonists and changed British Rhodesia to Zimbabwe. Ever since then theirs been tension and a few coups on zimbabwe which Mugabe destroyed. What got me is when a coup d'etat failed and the press said his folk had massacred 100's of innocents. Those innocents were armed villagers who had been bought to fight for some (unknown person) to over throw the palace/governement and take over the country.
So he defended his land and people from these people who mostly were from over the border and trained as a rival militia.
Its all very complicated and I dont wanna make excuses for people like Mugabe but theirs always more to some stories and it very rarely gets in the mass media, some papers do print stuff though and I applaud them...
Anyway, Waffling on... but Sadaam could have been taken out and hes baath mates killed without invading the country and occupying it for years.
I just hate being lied to, and invading a country on false accusations and lies...

Not sure on this. The US did fund and support the Mujahadein against the Soviets, but when the Soviets pulled out, the USA did it usual. "Ok no threat" and pulled all support and funding.
The Taliban then appeared after this, think they were a collection of radical mujahadein that came about.
Back on subject:
I remeber seeing Colin Powell go on about the "mobile chemical labs" and the satellite images and thought "that looks bollocks and not very convincing". Still did not stop the war hawks.
And anyway, even if Sadam was mad, what gives the West the right to go marching in and saying "Woot here is democracy" when they clearly did not understand, the country, people, different factions etc etc etc.
I dont think Obama is going to get out of this as easy as he thinks.

Re: Hans Blix Testify Against Bush/Cheney
You might be write about mujahadein. Been a long time since I read about that...
Though doesnt change one thing, America's use of divide and conquer...
There has been a pattern in USA's warzones whether, middle east, central or south america and even africa and europe. Thing is people like Negroponte who was a guy who was slagged off massively with his human rights records in central america and how he finanaced death squads but then he gets top job in Iraq. Nice little band of people move through the power positions and its always the same names. Even with Obama in, his back room staff are all names we've seen before...
