best films you'll ever see

I've heard Zatoichi is meant to be good... But I've not seen it myself.. Anyone care to comment on it?

It's worth a watch I'd day. Pretty cool. I saw it back at the cinema a while back, so it's a bit hazy.

He was supposed to be doing a follow-up, but I never heard/saw anything after the announcement.

also anime related have you seen the remake of appleseed and the sequel - both to be recommended - sequel is directed by woo himself.

Although I wouldn't class it as "best" a quality Japanese movie is the 1979 GI Samurai......top wheeze.

Not to be confused with 'Blind Justice'!

Blind justice was a bit silly, but still reckon it was one of his best films (after the hitcher of course).

I love the grim 70's america of the warriors and attack on precinct 13.

Isn't that were they are going around on roller blades, with machine guns and stuff? And they play some sort of danger ball game with a skull or something? Classic Rutger!

No rollerblades or guns but yes to the skull, set in post-apocalyptic times (aren't they always ) with lots of sand great big metal sticks that they smack each other over the head with.

I haven't seen Salute of the Jugger either.

I'm mildly suprised that I haven't seen it before.

Oddly enough for Rutger it was a straight to video film

It is actually a good film though in my opinion, he's at his "mysterious anti-hero" best in it.

i love films like that, so will give it a whirl. The missus loves her some Rutger, so she'll watch it. I know she's seen it before.

It'll be a cultral exchangem as I made her watch Planes Trains & Automobiles the other day, because she'd never seen it.

what about split second - also has ian drury in - class - I like to play count the coffees while watching.

And planes trains is one of my fave films of all time.
