Three Red Lights On My Xbox! Any Advice?

Ok,,, got three red lights the after night after the COD4 clan match,,,, ive had the ring of death before but never this... switch it off for a bit and it seems to work an hour or two before red lights again,, any tips for this or am i gonna have to send it off.... cant be doing with a tempremental box.

My second box is still in that state because it's out of warranty. Keeps doing that, working for a bit longer sometimes then a bit less sometimes, then cacks out more and more. Worth requesting a repair soon before it goes right down

They give you extended warranty for 3 red rings so you may be in look (when did you get it?) I have error 74 at minute and I am going to get some thermal paste and have a pop myself at fixing it as they don't extend warranty for error 74. Its 78 quid I think flat fee for them to fix so if I break it may as well buy one for £120 new.

Just send it away as 3 red rings. Many a times they dont check.

Na they charge you £73 for a fix and want the details of your card in case before hand!! Or they send it back and say no its not 3 rings, was thinking about disconnecting fan and burning the fecker till all three came on!!

Have decided to experiment on it and fix it myself so in future I can fix out of warranty boxes as it does not seem to hard.

If not buy another, not like there is credit crunch or anything!!

Ballbags,,,, thats it,, constant three red ring now. Just need to make up my mind wether to behave myslef go and go a few weeks without my box while I wait for repairs or get my arse down to Game now and buy the Red Resi Evil 5 edition.

Personally if I had the cash I'd go get another box lol Get that one repaired (if its free) then stick it on flea bay

Thats probably the fastet £230 ive spent since a drunken night in amsterdam an age back.... to and back from the shop in 25 mins with a shiney red elite!!! OOOOO.

Put one in bedroom works great as DVD player and means if missus wants tv she can have it and you wander upstairs!!!

wish I had waited a month and got a red one. I got a black one but want red tis unique...lol

Why is it that us 360 players put up with the box breaking as often as it does - I've got 2 at home, one that I use to play games and a spare for when mine goes tits up.

As to the red one - are they producing controllers and accessories for them, coz if not, it will look a bit daft with multicolour accessories :D

I have a pink, white, black controller. Why I need another controller I don't know but I'd love a red one.

Why we put up with it I don't know. MS have got very lucky that their system is similar position to the PS2 last gen if it was in the state of the originla Xbox then it'd probably lose a lot of market share and become another dreamcast.
If they mess up next gen I want be happy. They made a wise choice in not going Blue-Ray (imo) stil not needed but they should have had a hdmi from start, and a better heatsink, and a 120gb harddrive from start to counter blue-rays storage.

Hi peeps I found out that if you purchase your 360 via debit or credit card the item has to replaced by retailer. Even if you have gone past the warranty your covered up to 6 years. But now if you get prob microsoft will replace your box and extend the warranty 3 years
