Online Lag

Ok - A couple of times over the last week or so I've had an issue where I'm playing CoD4 (and last night it happened when we were playing L4D) where the following happens:

1. Play will start normally
2. Suddenly the screen freezes (but I can still here chat etc)
3. After 2-3 seconds the screen un-freezes and play catches up with where everyone else is.

This only seems to happen online (although to be honest I've only really been playing online recently) and doesn't seem connected to how long I have been playing. e.g. when I played with Lemony until 5am the other night it didn't happen at all.

My first instinct is that its network lag - but in Cod4 it doesn't always come up with the "connection interuppted" message.

Also when it happened in L4D last night, no-one else mentioned it or seemed to have an issue, and it only happened the once.

Any thoughts?

I get it mate will be your home connection, maybe a short break in the data flow

That's a relief - was worried my box was on the blink.

I had it to mate in L4D.
I thought it was gonna crash as it froze for 5-6 secs very unusual but then started up again fine. I was host so must have affected everyone.
