1 vs 100, what do you think?
Hi everyone, It's new member Darko here, just wondering what any of you make of 1 Vs 100!
I've had a few goes on a couple of nights and have mostly enjoyed it, apart from when you get error code or booted out of room and lose all your score of course!
I know It's only a beta at moment, and they have to iron out all the kinks and issues with it before it plays OK! But i have enjoyed it, and think it will be great when it's running properly and can't wait to try and win some prizes! As the One or in the Mob! What do any of you people think of it? All comments welcome, Darko!

Hello! I've only had a try on the extended play version, and have got on well with it so far.
I haven't had any problems, and the difficulty seems balanced (though multiple choice always makes it a little easier!).

I'm up for any teams that get set up, once the games running smoothly that is. Should be a good laugh! If any of you lad's want to add me as a friend, send me a request and I'll gladly accept! Once I'm through my trial period and I'm allowed to join the clan of course.

You can add us all as freinds and join in games while you are a trialist Darko, infact the more you join in the better as you will get to know us all quicker. Have you posted in the introductions thread asking to be signed up?

I like it and importantly the Mrs can play along as well.
I preffered the 'Live' session to the 'Extended play' ones which feel a tad dead to me because you are not really playing for anything.
I am amazed at the scores some people are getting. They must be instant answering every question correctly, which I do find hard to believe.

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
Yeah, but then I suppose they always will.
At least they're having a Beta test. Hopefully thy'll fix it before it goes in proper.
Though they won't if they're anything like my place. Find an error or hole in the system, and they shrug saying 'yeah, but people woundn't do that though'.
Always a sign that I'll be working on the same thing again as soon as they realise that people are idiots, so naturally do stupid things.

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
I think thats common to bugs raised by testers everywhere bud, there were a few bugs I raised one one system because it didnt do what the specs said it should, rather than fix the bug they changed the spec to make it not a bug anymore

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
It was a design feature!
Last project I worked on we didn't even have a spec. I asked what I was supposed to be testing, and IT said it was my problem, as no-one had told them what they had to program either.
And my boss wonders why my update said it seemed like a waste of everyones time.

Yeah we often have no specs so just have to test the systems how the dev guys say it should work.

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
No-one know how our system should work.
We got rid of those people during the corporate merger.
They were probably labelled as troublemakers when they said things like "you can't do that".
Our latest thing is getting system requests to deal with problems that should be training issues.

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
The company we merged with is used to only testing the exact thig that was a problem.
Whereas we're used to testing other, linked systems, to check they still function.
No agreement has been made about which way we should do it now we're all one company.

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
so basically that company you have merged with are the sort of retards that dont realise code is linked in strange ways and a bug fix can cause a defect in a seemingly unrelated part of the system making regression testing very neccissary

Not quite as polite as I put it to them, but just as accurate.
I throughly expect to be replaced in six months time by a small group of people in Singapore, who will do what they are told to do.
Oddly, my boss did tell me that I was the kind of person who just looked for flaws in anything.
I reminded her that that's actually my job!

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
please dont tell me they actually think that the point of testing a system is to prove that it works. That is the huge feck up that most people that dont understand what we do make

Re: 1 vs 100, what do you think?
That is exactly what they think. They think that if you ask for a banana to appear when you press a certain button, you should press the button once, and if a banana appears, all is well.
No time given to what happens when you press any other buttons, or what happens if you press it again, or press it twice, or don't press it at all.
Actually, they don't even wonder why they want a banana, or if there's any other way of getting one.

I was also acused of being pedantic when I raised questions during a project proposal meeting.
Kind of thought that was the point!

So you are a pedant that looks for flaws in everything?
I will be sure to put your name forward next time we need a new tester here . Sounds like the top 2 qualities of any tester, we are supposed to be irritating twats that question everything
