Slumdog Millionaire
Well I really like out there and cultural films and was looking forward to this.
But have to say I found the film massively overhyped and lacking in story, progression, acting and dialogue.
It was rather forced at times and felt like it was a foreign/cultural film that had been made to appeal to a wider audience which in turn diluted any effects of India that the film should have portrayed better.
The film was so fast and jumpy it was hard to build up any emotions for the characters living in the slums.
I could write a lot of things I didnt like but I'd probably bore you...lol
I give it 6.5/10
Not a terrible film but hugely over-rated and theirs far better films out there like this that got much less recognition.
Hmmm disappointing...
Oh and the final question for 20 million rupees..? What a joke, Who was the 3rd musketeer...? 1) Aramis 2) cardinal 3) Dogtanian 4) Planchard
I mean seriously its not a 20 million rupeer question, Im not saying its easy question as sure not everybody knows its (a) but it aint a final question...
LOL yeah being little picky but I found through the whole film I found moments like that.

The missus really liked this film. Haven't seen it yet myself though.
I might watch it when it's on Sky or something.

I havent been able to find any interest at all in watching this film so far and a 6.5 here confirms that its probably not worth my time

Re: Slumdog Millionaire
I would give it even less I saw it when it was released in the cinema and it's not the editing or characters that annoy me so much but more the style of story they chose and the payoff that wind me up. I mean it has a message and has a fairy tale sort of premise to it that if your good, good things will happen and if you believe in yourself etc etc. But the main character spends most of the film not believing in himself and just sort of falls into most of the situations so the premise doesn't work and it becomes contrived!
It's sort of like seeing a guy fall off a bike over the edge of a cliff and get there leg stuck in some foliage which in turn swings them onto a boat full of women and then saying "I meant to do that"
4/10
Rambo did a better job of highlighting the plight of a country most of the world is ignorant of

Re: Slumdog Millionaire
Well its funny how it starts with main charcter being hit on head with Alexandre Dumas's "Musketeers" book ands final question on Dumas's Musketeers.
As for me the whole concept is a rip off of Dumas's style of storys.
I love Dumas's style as well, I like to believe you do good, good things happen. But this story just didnt work for me at all and I found it a little sickly and awkward.
very disappointing...
even missus didnt seem to be to impressed.
i say go watch city of god or babel, they are far better cultural films.
