Mondo Cane, have you seen faces of death too supposed to be more of the same but not gotten round to it. Thanks for the easy one :P

Mondo Cane is more of an anthropological movie and most is real - Faces of Death is more of a gore fest shockumentay and most but not all is faked. The Hubb is an expert on mondo films

Faces is one to see because you can play spot the fake clip game -

however if you are able to pick up the Mondo Cane boxset - it's worth the hefty price as you get 8 films - including MOndo Cane 1 and 2, Africa Addio both English theatrical and Italian director cut - it's really grim, Goodbye Uncle Tom both English theatrical and Italian directors cut, Women of the World (sort of outtakes from Mondo Cane) and The Godfathers of Mondo (documentary on the filmmakers)
The prints are all excellent - I also have the Mondo Cane soundtrack on vinyl.

If you've seen Executions 2 The Hubb did the UK DVD sleeve for that title and had to begrudgingly make the BBFC cuts - although he cheated a bit

When I was a little kid my Dad knew I liked Manga and rented us Urotsukudoji from the video shop. well - there was this time when my parents were watching Last Tango in Paris at a drive -in and I had woken up - and when it came to the butter the ass fucking scene - I was really freaked out and asked something like "oh my god whats he doing with that butter?" my parents flipped

it was that kind of shit that put me off food for awhile - I became convinced that my parents did weird shit to the food when I wasn't looking -scared the hell out of me - I saw butter and started screaming it was years before I could even eat buttered toast
