transmetropolitan
transmet. is a stunning comic book graphic novel set released in the 90's by garth ennis and darick robertson that ran for about 60 issues (and a couple of specials) . its a future sci fi event with main protaganist spider jeruselam, a viciously funny journalist, just trying to live and write. its not a kids comic or a super hero romp, booze drugs hookers and much future weirdness runs throughout but isnt just a string of drunken moments it contains some genuine soul and passion that spider brings to his writings (mainly political work and life pieces).
its quite full on colour and style wise with decent writing and insults that all mix well together, im finding it difficult to really get out how good this series is without coming over all fanboy... but who am i kidding its well worth a read (amazingly my firefox crashed here and kept all the above) ive avoided the storyline cuase personally i dont like spoilers even knowing about the characters that are going to come up, but ill finish by saying if you dont often read comics or book for that matter check out the first several pages then read all of the rest its that easy and bloody great

Re: transmetropolitan
I used to love Transmetropolitan, but lost touch with it when I moved away from London, as it's a long hike to my nearest comic book shop now.
I didn't think i'd like it at first, but it really one me over.
Not to get too nerdy, but it's written by Warren Ellis, not Garth Ennis. I love Garth Ennis, Preacher being the book that got me into comics.

On my specialist subjects I'm very nerdy! This isn't one of them, but I got picked up on getting Ellis and Ennis mixed up, so it just stays in there!
I might start picking Transmetropolitan up again though, as you've reminded me how good it was, and I never finished it.
