Bloody Hell!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1223001/Great-White-Shark-bitten-nearly-half-BIGGER-monster.html
A 'monster' great white shark measuring up to 20 ft long is on the prowl off a popular Queensland beach, according to officials.
Swimmers were warned to stay out of the water off Stradbroke Island after the shark mauled another smaller great white which had been hooked on a baited drum line.
The 10-foot great white was almost bitten in half.
Bloody Hell!
Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
Jebus!! Looks at the state of it! There's nearly nowt left. The size of the bite marks are enormous. Is it safe to go back in the water? IS IT FUCK!

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
it looks fake. though there is proof of a fisherman and his son catching a large fish off the Italian coast and a great white emerging and taking a big chunk form it.
ive said for over 15 years now that the day will soon come when we have Great Whites on our coastline as they have in the medateranian
But remember that more people die from bee stings every year, Great Whites dont attack humans deliberately, they bite for curiosity to see if we are like seals, unfortunalty the bite can be fatal or lead to a loss of limbs...these creatures could tear us apart so easily if they wanted too

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
Yeah not alot of animals like human, we're too stringy and don't taste nice as they need more fat to sustain their bodies. Although Bull and Tiger sharks do eat people they will try and have a go at anything, that's why they're dangerous
Looks great though I'd love to see it up close. I'm just waiting for them to re-open Bikini Atoll so I can go swimming with thousands of sharks, but it's been closed off this year due to the American governmant not being able to pay the massive debt they owe the community there for lying to them, moving them to an island that couldn't sustain them so they starved to death and when they moved them back after nuclear bomb testing they all got ill and died again

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
bull sharks are the b'stards that actually attack people up rivers as well, very nasty sharks they are
the great white is very timmid in all honesty and more and more people are now filming them in open water from outside the safety of a shark cage

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
Did anyone see that Nature Shock program a few weeks ago, was about Killer Whales attacking Great White Sharks?

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
Yeah it was interesting but a bit long winded, They didn't need to go over the facts like I was a 3 year old every 5 mins I had it guessed after about 10 mins
But then again a load of nature programs are being shown that way, there was a program about fishing having an impact on some tropical islands and it started with the "fact" that fishing in the Atlantic Ocean accounts for 1/3 of all fishing in the world. But told to us as though it was around the islands in question? Well I'm not that dumb the atlantic accounts for about 1/3 of the worlds open ocean!!!!!! It's not a stretch of the imagination to think it therefore has about 1/3 of the fucking fishing in it!!!!! So now I'm resigning myself to only watching attenborough

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
well ive noticed they ommited the fact that Orca whales are a family creature and there would have been at least one distracting the shark while the other hit it. they just seemed to focus on their belief that the orca just attacked the shark and the other smaller Orca was doing jack shit.
Sharks have an amazing sense of movement in the water and i'd be suprised if it didnt know that the Orca was swimming towards it at speed which makes me think the other smaller Orca was involved in the attack

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
most animals don't like us because we smell funny - our clothes - the stuff we clean with etc its all unnatural -
orcas do have a nasty predeliction for tormenting other animals - kind of like cats with mice and birds - seen some documentary footage of this happening
i always understood that the reason great white sharks would attack a human is that we swim like a fish in trouble - the splashing etc alerts them to well...easy prey.
to be fair with all the testiing that goes on underwater it probably messes with certain creatures navigational systems - all these whales that keep swimming inland - even into London
there may be a huge great white swimming around - but the photo looks fake - then again I also think cthulhu is probably swimming around somewhere

I did it, we ran out of fish fingers and I wasn't prepared to eat the mash on it's own, so we nipped out and had a nible each.

I remember from years ago a documentary on Killer Whales where they would toss seals they caught around. Using there rear flipper as a sling flinging the seal about, the seal usually daed at this point. Or jumping out the water and flopping down on the seal as they re-entered the water....a bit like a Whales version of the Peoples Elbow lol.
One clip that stunned me is the way they would shoot up out of the shallows to grab a seal at the waters edge, temporarily beaching themselves, grabing a seal in the process, and then shuffling backwards into the deeper water.

Re: Giant Shark on the Loose!
well ive always beleieved that Great Whites will find their way to our shores because Briatain has a good healthy seal population...and considering its a fact that they are in the medateranian sea already it surely is only a matter of time
and sharks do attack humans through misidentity, though some attacks occour when the shark is curious and takes a bite to taste...usually the severity of a shark bite is fatal...which is why it is rare for sharks to repeatedly attack the human victim
but we know so little about them...when i was a boy US airmen were told to wear blck to avoid a shark...now we know that is bullsh*t, it was also advised to stay perfectly still...now were advised to make a huge commotion to scare the shark...we are still learning without much success

thats the one - I saw that as well it was a few years ago - remember they also toyed with one seal letting it think it was going to get away and then just when the seal thought it was free them attacking it again.
sharks though always just thought of them as efficient killing machines
by the way orcas aren't actually whales they are related to dolphins - man don't fook with the dolphins they will fook your stuff up
