Guilty Pleasures Empty Guilty Pleasures

Post by Agincourt Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:33 am

Alright, everybody here must like some music that is either terrible to any sane person or just wrong in every sense of the word. So here's a brief rundown of some of the songs/bands that I have a perverse fondness of:

My Music Background - Metal, Rock, Starting to appreciate Cash and Dylan

Guilty Pleasures:
From working in HMV I'm bombarded with some absolute crap, but sometimes some of the fetid waste sticks and I'm ashamed to say that I quite like N-Dubz..... it's so ludicrously over the top and naff that it just cheers me up whenever I here them. Dappy for office!

Christina Aguilera - Dirrrrrty. Back when I worked in a TV shop me and my assistant manager would watch this at least a dozen times a day. I salivate like Pavlov's dog whenever I hear itt now..... and her chebs are humongous now after dropping sprog!

Jackie Wilson - Reet Petite. This was one of my favourite songs when I was a toddler. I think the (terrible) plasticine video appealed to me and the nonsense chorus. Another one that makes me grin from ear to ear when I hear it.

There are many more. What's your dark secret? (music related Hugh Guilty Pleasures 620824 )

Forgive me Father for i have sinned -

my 'guilty pleasure'...New Kids On the Block - 'Cover girl'

Used to date this girl many years ago when this was released and she was mad for them....especially Donny i think his name was. She plyed this so many times that it was one of those situations that it just got stuck in my head and grew on me. But wow the things she could do while kissing with her tongue made it all worth it

Well father thats my confession

okay I have several - Toybox - Best Friend (I think she has the collest hair but The Hubb won't let me wear mine like that on the train into uni - she's kind of a mini me I guess

I love O-Zone (yes I know, I know) - but my word in this vid there are an awful lot of throbbing crotch shots - I also listen to them very very loud on mp3 player and when others notice and start to laugh I become confrontational and say yeah huh what - shuts them up real quick. I'm friends with them at myspace both as a band and as individuals

I really like Laka - I'm also friends with him at myspace - I also find him incredibly attractive - probably a lot more than I should

and well...I still listen to The Shamen - so I dedicate this to the recently fired health minister because as he said.....

but the most embarrassing was when I was a youngster with a mohican and I just loved this song and NO ONE knew that in between listening to Bad Brains, DK and the Butthole Surfers - I had this 12" - shame on me

Toy-box look and sound suspiciously like Aqua. When exactly did you get into all this euro-pop? Surely you couldn't have been exposed to it when you were in the US! Guilty Pleasures Lol

yeah they do but they aren't Aqua - just another Swedish euro-pop band I heard them in the states along with The shamen there -same with Noel

Laka from eurovision after I moved over here- yes i watch it also the same goes for o-zone saw them on some music video channel and well I guess there's always been this soft spot for euro pap - my best friend from the age of 13-16 was from Belguim so...was exposed to a lot of euro stuff when I was young - a cousin of hers was some DJ in Antwerp

but having said that I loved Soft Cell when I was 10, also Gary Numan's Cars (I was 8 or 9 when it came out) and of course The Human League - maybe the circuitry in my head is a little off - I usually prefer synths to rock music
