Well in tribute to DEATH PIXIE for helping start this clan before he disappeared and the fact he named himself after the GREATEST BAND ever.
I'd like to present to people the PIXIES...

The band that sing about drugs, sex, perversions, bondage, mutilation, immoral sex and ufo's... You can't beat them...

And the banned that turned me from a nice little boy to a rebel who smoked pot, drank beer and rebelled and had devious thoughts.

The Pixies are amazing, been into em since surfa rosa, dig for fire, planet of sound, Alison, great tracks, quite mental.

Oh well, I guess its all a matter of taste.

Its good people have different tastes.
Be a boring world otherwise.
I listen to all sorts from, folk, hip hop, dance, grunge, garage rock to metal.

But Pixies are easily one of the greatest bands ever. There albums Surfer Rosa and Doolittle always get in the Top 20 albums of all time not many bands bar The Beatles and The Rolling Stones can do that.

Strange video their of Metallica. Playing punk rock style. Ive seen Metallica live at Reading Festival. Honest they were alright, the fans just pissed me off. Started fires in the middle of crowds. I'm all for a bit of mayhem and moshing but fires and disrespect for your fellow peeps arpund you is stupid, especially at night in the dark.

To be honest I dont like Metalica much, but I love the Anti Nowhere League and that video was one of their songs. I agree totaly about the Metalica fans, bunch of bloody plebs!
My fave two bands are Motorhead and Hawkind. I also love ACDC, Sabbath, Purple, Zeppelin etc

Old school hard rocker.
And nothing wrong with that.
Most of the bands you've mentioned I grew up listening to as a teen. They helped me form a bond with music and I'll always be a massive Led & sabbath fan forever.

Much of the bands I've posted are alternative. So its very hard to get into.
The sounds are not as easy to identify with. Like a onion they have many layers and peeling back the music to some makes their eyes water to the sound of it.

Tis good to mix it up a bit, i keep all mine on a 300GB hard disk (and tis full), and have the whole damn lot on random, you get really wierd tracklists like the following that occurred this morning:

sigure ros (wierd indie)/Bach/Asche (noise)/bonobo (funky triphop)/The wedding present (indie)/Apoptygma berzerk (Cyber industrial)/The clash/The chameleons(indie)/Smiths/James Brown/deicide (metal)/The wonderstuff (old indie)/Kpax soundtrack/dinosaur jr (grunge)/covenant (cyber)/DR John (mad funky jazz)/kitchens of distinction (indie)/Skinny Puppy (proper old industrial)/30 mins of john shuttleworth's radio show(radio comedy is also in the mix)/seabound(cyber)/Amon tobin (drum n bass)/Megadeath/The Go Team (funky indie). And the wierd random mayhem goes on.

I do have big playlist for certain things, like daytime chill tunes, gaming compilations etc.

Variety is the spice of life, so i like to keep my collection spicy LOL

Ahhh, the Pixies,,,, saw em live on the reunion tour a couple of years back,,,, thought that was a band id never see. Great twisted stuff.

Music is my one true passion, wish I was good at it, I dabble but as a hobby. Most of my cash goes on gigs, both here and abroad. Pearl Jam are probably my all time favorites, seen em in New York, Paris, Athens and a bunch of times in the UK.

My Ttste is varied though....
Dead Kenedys, Misfits, Danzig, Faith No More, Rage Against the Machine, Megadeth, Pantera, GnR, Aerosmith,,,,,, Kris Kristofferson (stop laughing) Springsteen, Travelling Wilburys, Tom Petty, Tom Waits,,,,, Chameleons, Stone Roses, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, ....god far too many to list.

Ive seen near enough everyone I wanted to, but the hunger for new bands and shows dosent dwindle, listen to a lot of unsigned bands. All the major gigs ive been to are listed on my site and if your a nerd like me, Ive got most of the setlists and nearly all the ticket stubs.

Chameleons are wicked, seen em twice. No one I know has ever heard of em, dunno if you remember, but Dave wore a Chameleons Tshirt in an episode of The Royal Family.

Seen Chameleons a few times since they reformed,,, once was in a tiny place,, mabey 150 people... was a warm up gig for the reunion tour, one of the risers fell off the stage, I was trying to hold it back up and the roadie had a right go at me, what a dive. I spent most of the gig planning on what to grab when (not if) the floor gave way. I sent an email to Mark Burgess, having a moan, he replied fair play to him, seems like a genuinly grounded fella.

oh i always seem to be on the look out for new music, recent favs of mine are pendulum and cage the elephant. old school favs that recently found are kyuss. ill give a look to some of the bands mentioned previously cause i recognised most but dont own any.

Kyuss used to love them. You like Queens Of The Stone Age then?

And you like Kyuss you should like the Pixies. Not so desert metal heavy sounding but rather cool and laternative...

Got that chameleons shirt on my wall as a poster. nice one representin at such a big event, almost as much coverage as Dave in the royal family :)

yes love the pixies and QOTSA. rated r is absolutely amazing.

i like Pixies too, but i mostly listen to nirvana or any punk/metal music.

An acquired taste but if you can sit down and listen to something liek Surfer Rosa, light a smoke (candy stick if youve quit), have a beer (again a shandy if your trying to cut down like me), sit out side with the sun out, maybe feet in a sand pit for a deserty sort of feel, cactus plant can help, and just chill relax and listen to the riffs of spanish indulgence, naughty mexicana, british punk and american hard rock and let your troubles be blown away...lol
