ok as everyone is name dropping here - I've met quite a few famous people most through places I worked
back in New Orleans for 3 months I hung out with a guy named Brian Warner - the meeting in '95 was accidental, a friend wanted to meet him and she was holding me and not letting me leave - this girl I couldn't stand came up to him and being all touchy feely with him was like "oh god your Marilyn Manson I just love you guys blah blah blah" - so I grabbed him by the shirt pulled him really close and sarcastically said "oh my god you are Marilyn Manson I think I'm cuming all over myself" and he laughed and said "you are such a bitch, I like that" - so we ended up hanging out after that (hanging out in the sense of drinking and making fun of people - he's bitchy like that).
when I was moving to Chicago - he asked me why I had to go - a few months after that they started to become huge. He never called me by my real name when he found out when my birthday was - he always called me the ides of march. it was a strange short friendship. Twiggy was a little stuck on himself - although he was usually very nice to me - probably because I threw Trent Reznor against a wall and verbally eviserated him
the last person I met that had any type of fame came to my house and baked cakes with me for his art project, had me write a score for another of his projects called The 17 in which he performed with me - the weird thing was when he interviewed me which really made me uncomfortable - to be fair him taking the project from the virtual into the physical really unhinged me - his name is Bill Drummond - people either know him because he use to be in a band many moons ago or because he burned a million quid. well as a kid i had a soft spot for Barcalona (yeah footy again) so have always been aware of the Franco dictatorship and his attitude to the catalonian people especially

a mate of my husband use to live in spain - he ran an English newspaper there - very political and very left wing - not far from where he lived a new mass grave had been uncovered and the left wing government wanted to come clean about the pas but the right wing side (which still believes Franco was great) said that if they did this it would bring a new civil war to Spain
I personally found that abhorrent, I mean hey if some group is to essentially commit genocide then they should own up to it - not threaten to do it again if their actions are fully exposed - theres articles on it called Il pacto del olvido (I think thats the name).

its a sad thought but they'll be uncovering mass graves for years to come in Spain...its hard to believe this could happen in a civalised european country, though Germany isnt the exception to the rule...after all Britain doesnt have clean hands as the Boer women and children will testify to their treatment at our hands in the concentration camps we built during the Boer war

ultmately political leanings are irrelevant as its a human issue but I couldn't remember the name of the newspaper or what the political parties there are called so it was easier to just refer to them by their political leanings if that makes sense
