ALC VRS MWG tuesday 10th feb (9pm) gears2

hi all when browsing the xbox.com forums i noticed your clan site and thought you seem to have the same qualities as us at ALC.

so i've popped over to say hi.

anyways i know it's short notice but is there a chance you could raise a team on tuesday nite for a gears of war 2 game we've already a cod5 game being played but tueday's usually gears nite and some of the gear heads have been whinging lol.

heres the challenge anyways no real supprises in the set up just a friendly chainsaw about.

Hmmm Spyro if we do excpet challenge we may have to change rules a little as we have been in a few clan games and they have gone on for hours when set to 5 on execution.

First is 4 maps of execution set to "6 mins" not (4 mins) sorry but fed up of unfair teams who run and hide when they go a man down to stalemate.

Second first to 3 as first to 5 can go on far too long we had one round that lasted over an hour once.

Third, I prefer team killing on as it stops people just chucking random frag mines everywhere and makes the team communicate more. Also limits the power of some weapons like mortar which is too powerful in its own right. But with Team kill on it becomes important to team talk tactics.

Fourth, we could play a fifth round decider of Guardion, if we/you have time...

I'm fine with 10 secs bleed-out makes it a little fairer in my opinion.

Hope I dont sound like a nag we are a fun clan and I work out games to make them fair.
I've seen some very cheap tricks by some clans on Gears so I try and cut it out.

I hope the rules are ok, team killing isnt so bad it just means you gotta remember where you placed mines, where you shoot your gun, and where you chuck explosives...

I just gotta get a few more before I can confirm though...

Not tomorrow mate, since we have Wingman on Wednesday and Clan game on Thursday 3 nights in row is too much even for me on Gears!!

Not sure what will happen on Wednesday with the Wingman as England are playing Spain so this may dilute the attendance somewhat.

if this goes ahead count me in either playing or subbing

just a quick check is this for tuesday? we can start @ 8.30 if that better timewise i gotta get kids in bed lol, mondays a little awkward for us as we got a poker touney going ahead.
as far as the rules go were pretty easy going damn friendly fire thou i hate it will check with our guys see if they ok with it and post back (we don't play very often with ff so we tend to forget and end up doing all the killing ourselves ;P)
p.s we aint hiders yeah i know what you mean by campers we played 1 clan on bloodrive they insisted on warzone and all 5 just camped at top spawn end hammerbursting down the steps was fecking boooooorrrrriiiiinnnnggggggg. lol

Just thought I would pop over to introduce another person from ALC, I will also be in the match Tuesday if your all fine with the date still, I understand your confirming later on. Spyro is our gears General and so will let us all know.

They are just sorting out over in ALC but in terms of your rules, Friendly fire is fine with myself, Project Echelon recently asked us to do the same and we havent got a problem with it, everything else is fine, could we stick with the 5 rounds though? We havent yet had a match drag on with anyone using those rules, especially with Friendly fire, got to love grenades with that rule on :D.

ALC will play tactically but they will not run and hide or anything like that. We insist that no member in ALC ever glitches, abuses the system etc and behaves in clan games with respect so you will not have any problems with us :D

Also, I dont know your views but we like people to NOT party up during matches.

Our warm up rooms are setup around 7:15pm on a Tuesday and your more than welcome to jump over onto my host for a chat etc if you have any queries or anything :D I remember Dangermouse from somewhere, just cant place it.

Our inter clan games are usually 1 - 2 hours max, depending if there are any nat conflicts etc. You can host first if you want, if we do host the second half (we let PE host all four as host was fine) I remove all my router setup and open up the modem so you should have no issues connecting on.

lol 8:30 will be fine I am sure. Im also up early to sort out dogs and drive stupid miles to work so I know where your coming from.

Most of us enjoy friendly fire and your right it does tone down the mortar etc.

Im guessing from the team that signed up, that they will ask for Hail and Jacinto but Spyro will confirm.

Party chat is not allowed here either. Its seen as effectively cheating as it gives peoples location, mortar points, nade tags etc. Also we should be chatting and having banter in the lobby otherwise may as well be playing randoms in public games.

Maybe we could see how the matches go and change if needed? Reason we use 3 rounds is it took 2.5 hours to get to 1-1 with a clan recently and the maps became tedious!!!! Maybe play the first and see how it goes from there? I don't really mind personally but 1-1 after 2.5 hours is just too long.

Cheating is also not allowed and glitching is cheating so your safe at the back of pavillion with us!

Lol reason we say five is because the three we tried lasted around 20 minutes. "took 2.5 hours to get to 1-1 with a clan recently" jesus, can guarantee this wont happen!!!!! Even if its 5 on 1 you will find our guys will still go for the win on the round, even if it is rare to pull off.

Would you like to jump in early and test a map we both havent picked? Even if we play four against your five to test it out. Our lobby will be open anyway so just send me a message and jump in.

If it took that long Demonza would probably blow himself up and Spyro wouldnt be able to stop himself running at you anyway...

lol i think it was mate i missed that one luckily! lots of camping from what i heard and runnin round the map. thats the only prob with gears bloody stalemates!

Yeah was a game on Blood drive which did it. Was a bit of a stand off as neither team wanted to go over as it resulted in suicide everytime and was very close so went to wire ended 5-4 as I remember with around 3-4 draws. Was good match but just took too long.

We should be ok with the 5 but obviously if it goes that way maybe best to change but were easy and can play it by ear on the night. We don't take it very serious so your safe there. Don't want it all over too quickly either as we have had others when it finished 5 nil after about 10-15 mins (not say who too!!).

Should be on before hand for a little run about to make sure things are ok. Haven't had any problems with connection before so this should not be a problem. We use the big pipe connections and as long as everyone is in the UK area and not across the pond then its never an issue.

Clan is only UK anyway and we will be on mine (if we dont just decide to be lazy and stay on your host) which is 20mb.

Lets say 5 rounds and if it does start to drag for whatever reason we will drop it down. It never has and I would have words with the team if they ever pissed about too much. I have seen clans lose a man then go completely defensive and hide away which is just ridiculous. Blood drive always seems to be the main culprit, tell ya what, lets ban that map lol

They are a good bunch that will be playing so whatever happens I am sure we can have a laugh, as without that...whats the point
