NORTH VS SOUTH II (GEARS 2) = WINNER SOUTH

[size=12]Welcome to the 2^nd Muppet North vs South competition. Good fun was had by all and as with the Halo 3 competition there is certainly potential here if I sort out the weapon swaps and maps.

Round 1: Warzone on Gridlock – Southern Victory
Chose this map so all players could warm up and shot stuff. Most rounds focused on a mass scrap at the sniper/torque spawn and despite the Norths best efforts the South managed to secure this power weapon on most rounds. The North were happy to secure the Boom on most rounds but with Dark popping heads the North were always up against it.

MVP South = Dark Therapy
MVP North = Webby

Round 2: Annex on Security – Southern Victory
Lancers only was the order of the day in this round. With all other weapons off finding the Annex was an interesting search but the small map mean the ring was never to far away. This also means everyone was never far away from a chainsaw to the face. South took an early lead in the first game when they spawned near the ring and it was an impossible task for the Northern boys to take it off then. Ozzy, a regular Lancer user, was practically effective throughout this round. Must say I’ve never seen so many bullets flying everywhere when the ring was @ the pistol spawn.

MVP North = Webby

Round 3: Warzone on River – Northern Victory
To mix this up all weapon spawns were set to frag grenades for this round. Most games saw the teams stay on their side of the river lobbing grenades all over the map. Dark was happy to camp in the big house and pick off any Northern boys that strayed in his range (which seams to cover the whole map). Was funny how everyone was intent on getting kills with frags and forgot they could still shoot people. In one round Jinksie strayed over the river searching out Webby and Al, this neded in tears as both Northern players tagged him with a grenade on both arms. A series of team killing from the southern lads (Lam would have been proud), and some choice throws from Taytos, Mackam and Webby handed a first win of the night to the North.

Round 4: Guardian on Day One – Southern Victory
The round was all set for a snipe head popping fest but some dope (oops) set the weapons wrong meaning there was only 1 sniper on the map. Damn me if Dark did not get this gun in every round and run riot. North put up a good fight but the Southern boys lead by Dark overpowered the Northern lads for a quick win and the overall victory.

MVP South = Dark Therapy (again) and Jinksie
MVP North = Webby

Round 5: Execution Jacinto – Southern Victory
With all weapons off the North were determined to shows the shandy boys who was boss. This was going to plan as the North took the early lead. Then Dark found his super A-game and with some silky skills and great team support ripped the North lads apart fro the next few rounds. The northern lads changed tactics and focused on Dark as their No.1 target. The mass t-bagging of Dark by all the North boys was a stand-out moment (we loves you really mate NORTH VS SOUTH II (GEARS 2) = WINNER SOUTH 939442

). The final round of the night saw a stand-off between Meltdown, Taytos and Al from the North vs Ozzy and Dark from the South. The man and host advantage was little use and the Southerners squeezed out the win.

Comments: Hope everyone had a good time with this event, some of the rounds were great fun and other could do with a little tweek for the rematch. A shotty only round is a must and I promise no more lancer only rounds. If anyone has an ideas for the gametypes for the nexy round please let me know.

Thanks everyone for taking part, especially Webby, Mackam and Ozzy for subbing in at the last minute for the missing players.

Yeah despite my Dong style moans it was a laugh. Id like to see a hammerburst only round lol.

Could maybe try an inks only round or just beatdowns lol. Think Mackam's idea of headbutting each other with no weapons might work, really didn't enjoy the Guardian match much but thats pob cos its Day One.

Will def be there for the rematch!

wow i finished joint leader with dark one game!! although it was guardian and he was leader twice and i was only once and leaders tend to just hide!! (or is that just me lol) but even so NORTH VS SOUTH II (GEARS 2) = WINNER SOUTH 414835

after a quick calculation, i have found the 4 possible causes of the south's victory in GOW2 and Halo3 NvS....

EITHER
because the south had Dark Therapy and/or Sammiad

AND/OR
Because the North has Meltdown and/or MrTaytos

i believe if you check my figures, they're accurate.... the secret 5th option was *I* wasn't playing north for either of them.... lets see how THAT shite goes down during the next one!
