Re: Rate the last film you watched
Busy weekend.....
Hulk: 6/10 Kind of ok in a "don't want to have to think to hard with things like a plot ans such-like". I can see this turning into one of those films I flick over to in the advert breaks when watching other programmes.
YES MAN: 8/10 Not as laugh out loud or belly-rumbling as some of his other films but still has that feel-good factor in spades.
TRANSPORTER 3: 7/10 from me 11/10 from the Mrs Good all round driving / fighting action like the other two, Good chase scenes but I got a bit fed up with the weird choppy-changy camera views and the speeded-up fighting bit.....the Mrs liked it more because he took hi top off......twice!

Drag Me To Hell 9/10 - I'm not a massive horror buff, but am a big fan of Sam Raimi (director the Evil Dead films, the Spider-man films, Dark Man, and lots of others I can't be arsed to name).
So, I knew I wanted to see this. I avoided reading anything about it, so I could be taken along for the ride.
And what a ride it was.
I loved it. It was as funny as it was scary, and Sam Raimi delights in making people squirm at the gross things happening on screen, and here he does that in spades. Watching an old lady take out her false teeth isn't very pleasent, but when you can her the squelching of saliva inside her mouth as she does so, it's worse. Right on that boarder of funny and gross. Just like the rest of the film!

Star Trek - 9/10
Totally awesome. Took some real courage on the part of the writers and director to do what they did (don't wanna spoil it!). Characters were all well casted (Karl Urban as Bones was genius, never saw that coming!) and more importantly believeable as the characters. Was kinda worried about the new Spock (don't get me wrong I'm not a massive trekkie but I love the movies and the universe) but the new guy pulls it off real well. The humour is well placed and actually funny (see the scenes with Kirk and Bones). Took the missus with me (she was really reluctant but there was nowt on at the time she wanted to see) and she wants to see it again! If nothing I've said convinces you, that should!

Platoon: 7/10
Good Film. Enjoyed it as it told a good story without making it all seem too glamourous. A lot of familiar names in there, Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger, Charile Sheen, Johnny Depp, Forest Whittaker and more.

Re: Rate the last film you watched
With a very rousing score too, I might add!
Kingdom Of Heaven 6/10 not bad but they seemed to skip a load of explanation at the beginning. Why would his dad come all the way to france from jerusalem to maybe find he had a kid? What the hell was Orlando Blooms characters motivation for going he didn't seem like the type of character who turned tail and ran? Did his dad manage to teach him that much in the short amount of time they spent together? Eh either way the fighting was spectacular and the costumes etc were very well done. Just not Ridleys best.

Star Trek 7/10
Dont like Eric Banana, i think he made a naff bad guy, and the romantic interest (not gonna spoil it by naming names) was wrong, even my missus who is a sci fi nut didnt like it.
Effects were fantastic, felt wrong laughing at Chekov trying to say Vulcan but still laughed, Bones was genius casting. Look forward to the next one as long as they get a decent bad guy
Checked out the Bruno trailer today - so so so wrong lol

Re: Rate the last film you watched
Speak not ill of Eric Bana. He didn't do too bad considering the script called for one of three things at any given time. 1. Growl 2. Run somewhere 3. Talk briefly
Jarhead: 6/10
Watched this from my DVD collection. When I first got it, I really enjoyed it. How tastes change, though. I find it had its moments, but they were few and far between. That and I hated all the characters except Jamie Foxx's Staff Sergeant guy. On the plus side its a serious, yet light hearted look at Operation Desert Storm and there's some good camera work too.
