well mate America ALWAYS re-writes history to serve its own purpose...look at WW2 films, especially Enigma for example.

Can you imagine the ending if Pakistani troops saved the Yanks...wow...teenagers in middle America a the movie theatres would love that

too be honest i never ever believe any film that claims to be based on factual events...again its the writers angel, and how many times has that been distorted. Peoples beliefs and opinions distory movies that are based on events...or sometimes they deliberatly lie as to appease the audience they want to attract

well you know what they say mate - History is written by the winners, and often bits that detract from them are conveniently lost in the annuls of time

It's a wonderful life

Classic Christmas tale i watched yesterday afternoon with the misses. Jimmy Stewart is excellent as George Bailey, a man living in a small town that is practically run by a rich miser. Slowly but surely he gives up his dreams of travel and education so his brother and people of his town can achieve theirs. A misfortunate financial accident leaves him feeling suicidal and his guardian angel saves him before its too late and shows him what life would be like for the town and his family and friends if he had never existed. Brilliant sentimental movie that should be shown on Christmas eve/day by terrestrial telly stations instead of the usual shite they peddle out.

10/10

theyve just released it in colour which looks interesting. They did the same with alister simms 'scrooge' and that didnt look right at all, clours were too sharp. But theyve learnt from their mistakes and it looks impressive.

I love this film too, always watch it early december and then on Christmas eve afternoon/evening as well. Frank Capra did a brilliant job with the casting

2010 - 6.5/10

Very good graphically, which you'd hope from a disaster movie nowadays. The plot was a little flimsy and none of the character were amazingly likeable. Still, that being said, it was an enjoyable film to watch, and I'll probably get it on DVD as there's nothing better than seeing civilisation collapse sometimes....

James Cameron's Avatar - 9.5/10

I'm loathe to give out 10/10 as in my eyes, there's no such thing as the perfect film. However, this does come very close. Visually stunning, I saw this in 3D last night and was blown away. Stunning graphics! The film was mammoth in length, and they could have probably trimmed bits down, but it didn't matter. Just looking at the Pandoran environment in all its CGI glory was enough to make me like this film, but the plot and some of the set pieces (especially the end battle) were truly stunning...

I think I may have to go see it again.
