Re: Female Gamer
wow! this forum is really active, I didn't think i would get so many replies within a few hours!
I haven't had time yet to check out the site, but i'm defo going to over the next hour, and also add alot of you all to my friends list. I play quiet lot of different games, I own way too many. But at the moment i'm playing GOW2 and rock band 2 quite a bit, also COD 5. Whenever I don't feel like playing xbox games i tend to play The Sims 2.
I am actually looking forward to the sims 3, because i get to build a new computer so that i can actually play the game.
Ok i'm talking too much now, probably bored of what i've said.
Thankyou to you all making me feel welcome

Oh, cool. I haven't built my own rig in several years (my rig is still going strong, but then I don't game on it much any more now that I have an XBox - I do video editing and photo manips on Linux). What kind of specs are you looking at? What mobo brands do you prefer? Looking forward to some XBL shootups!

well so far its going to be...
-Core i7 920
-Asus P6t Deluxe Mobo
- 6Gb Corsair dominator Triple Channel DDR3
-1Tb Samsung f1 spinpoint
-Corsair 1000w psu (i know its an overkill but it gives me plenty of room for upgrades later on)
-BFG Nvidia Geforce 295
-Noctua Cpu cooler (cant remember the model atm, although i may go for water cooling if i feel confident enough to do it)
-Windows 7 beta edition until its released in Sep 09
- as for computer case, it either going to the Antec 1200, Coolermaster Cosmos S or the Sliverstone TJ07
i think ive got everything.
It will be a BIG upgrade to my current PC which is neary 5 years old and cant play a thing. This PC will be used for many things other than gaming such as CGI applications, thats why it is high spec'd.
Hopefully i will be able to build it in June/July time. I'm really excited as it will be my first build

Re: Female Gamer
I mainly use my PC for interwebs, and playing old games like Space Quest and Monkey Island! I picked up The Witcher for it, but it chugged really slowly.
Then they announced the console version, so I became happy.
Now there's rumours they've cancelled it, so I became sad.
I'll probably just upgrade the PC a bit, and play that version now, but there's drawbacks to that (like no achievements!!!)

Kinda but not exactly... umm, hard to explain.
Well... The Sims has
-expansion packs
-you control if you want them to go toilet, eat, have sex even when you want to make a family
-they go to work
-they have hobbies (unlike Animal Crossing, as far as i remember the hobbies was fossil hunting)
-sims can go on holidays
-Sims can earn businesses (i think thats how you spell it)
Also if you play the Sims on the PC you can put in random cheat codes into the console to make sims die randomly, or turn them green, or many other things.
As far as i know Sims 3 is supposed to be different to The Sims 2 buti've goot to get rid of this PC by the summer...
Goodbye Prentium 4 ..
