Top Ten Live Acts - Page 2 Empty Re: Top Ten Live Acts

I've been to Wigan but the bus service to and fro is absolutely appaling from where I live- so I've only been a couple of times. I did think the city centre was interesting - how part of it seems to go "underground"

I've only been to Yorkshire once - to Bradford - to INfest - I remember on the way there is this strange house in the centre of the motorway - what a strange place to live and I've been to Sheffield - also to see a gig - scary ride over the Pennines on this long narrow winding road. One of my tutors is from Leeds - he just gives me hell - he's a narky little fucker - he likes to argue and wind me up all the time - The Hubb is his pet. The HUbb has several Yorkshire mates - and one thing they are good at is winding people up Top Ten Live Acts - Page 2 Lol

I think one of the hardest accents and it could just be the guy is from Warrington - it wasn't just the accent it's the slang as well. He use to play rugby so maybe he suffered a head injury - on some levels he sounded more concussed than I. Technically the town I live although now a part of St Helens has a Warrington post code and telepone exchange - but I can't really tell the difference in the accents between the places

Sometimes its difficult when playing with people on live - because I can't tell who is saying what I can tell the difference between North and South - but if everyone is from either the south or the north I'm lost - it normally takes me playing with them several times before I know the difference - but then this is going to sound really weird but when watching tele and talking with friends in person I don't even hear their accents I guess I am so acclimatized to the English accent that its only when I hear an American one that it I realise oh yeah these people are English Top Ten Live Acts - Page 2 Lol When I went to Paris one of the girls on the trip was from Yorkshire - her attempting to speak French was funny - the French were just confused

the accent though that always gets me going is the one from Dorset and Somerset - also Salford I had no idea that the Psycho Paul accent was genuinely real until I went to a gallery in Salford and heard someone say "I like it, I like it" I just started laughing - I turned around looking for Cartoon Head.

Ey up ther lass ow ist thee didlin? - hey there lady how you doing?

I've also seen Janes Addiction - back in 87 before they were famous - they opened for Love and Rockets - after the gig we went down to the quarter and while I was in the toilet my then boyfriend started talking to some of them - they came up to him and started chatting because he was wearing a Bauhaus shirt - they were really excited to have played with Love and Rockets - they were big fans of their music - so much so they were almost starstruck by the experience - when I had been watching the gig I thought it was a strange pairing and it was only later when hearing Psi-Com that you hear that influence

they are on GH5 - Mirror People - the last time I saw them they had the Bubblemen with them - the first time during the middle of Ball of Confusion - David J started playing the bassline to Bela Lugosi is Dead and the crowd went nuts and then he gave this shit eating grin and went back into Ball of Confusion - basturd Top Ten Live Acts - Page 2 Lol

I really struggle with Irish. And it gets worse when they try and speak more slowly so I can better understand. I think it's one I'll just never grasp.

I'm sorry, but I lost all respect for this band after my mate's band, Mistress, played with them. They were watching them and the lead singer's FRINGE HAIR PIECE FELL OFF. They supposedly assualted some girls on their tour bus as well, but I guess it's hear say.

Daryl Glassjaw did some awesome stuff with Finch and he taught the singer how to sing as well. :P

Hear'Say wouldn't do that. They loved their fans, and we they loved them!

that happened with the Revolting Cocks - Luc Van Acker didn't assault but raped a girl backstage - why he was MIA in the band for awhile - from what I understand Chris C was so upset about what happened he left the Cocks

to be honest there are so many girls willing to give it up just because some guy is in a band - even local bands have groupies - and the bigger the musician the more they think they can get away with it

apparently Oli pissed on some girl in the tour bus. i lost respect for them when i saw them at the furncae (swindon's best club/gig venue) and the jumped up prick's security wouldn't let me near the BAR because he was nearby (i was at the upstairs bar n the cunt was DOWNSTAIRS BY THE STAGE) n all he did was fuckin laff, yet claims to be glad of the fans and happy to help them, but how the fuck can you say that when no1 can get near ya? BUT they still put on a good show that night... tis the only reason i put them down Top Ten Live Acts - Page 2 Lol

Cool, I saw Incubus in Birmingham. They were supporting Glassjaw, but Glassjaw had to pull out as Daryl had another bout of Chron's due to the travelling. I was gutted.

I managed to catch Head Automatica twice on their tour a while back. It was amazing. I'll try and upload some of me videos if I can and if they're any good. I can't remember. I met Daryl in Manchester as well!

Funny story about that actually. Went to see them in Wolves and there are two venues around the corner from each other. We walk into the venue and wonder why there are so many old people around. Five minutes in and it dawns upon us that 1) we're in the wrong venue and 2) we're at a Pet Shop Boys gig or some shit.
