The Hollywood market is saturated with shit but there is so much interesting stuff coming out from the rest of the world, with better acting and a willingness to try with story as they don't have the money for flashy explosions and big names to hide a rehashed or terrible plot.
China, Japan, France, Spain, Sweden, the UK Mexico, Germany and Brazil all have pumped out at least one film each with more care and attention, character and love than anything Hollywood has made in decades, I don't need hollywood to know that cinema isn't dead. I would like a load of the tripe from over there to just crap itself into a f*ck off! But as it's not I feel I can actually actively avoid it as I don't watch TV and only watch film, I choose what to watch and never see any of these "film stars" unless it's on my terms

Moon was brilliant!!!!!!!! Eartly reports from cannes got me a bit excited and a bit non plused at the same time but it's well worth it.

Blood The Last Vampire was funny but bad loved the manga wished for more, but how good could it have been no Tonobu Asano
