Fat mike claimed to have created fat records to get away from labels trying to tell band what they can and can't put out. Then when he told Propaghandi to rewrite a whole album as it was too activist I got mad with him and stopped buying his stuff. Stopped buying anything on his label (That was just after pump up the vallium) Then they did that against bush tour and the war on errorism and I got even more mad with the dick! Also I have ribbed to Food Sex & Ewe was the song that got me into NOFX originaly.
I love rancid though still and listen to them regularly :D
There were so many good bands about at that time but Metal (Nu Metal) was terrible so Punk really had to pick up the pieces and I was happy to be in a hardcore band. I once wrote a song called "37" which was just a thrash around for 1:30 with the chorus "My Girlfriend Sucked 37 dicks!" from clerks and used to slow down at the end and we'd slip into the final countdown for a solo It was a really messy band but I had a lot of fun and caused a lot of trouble. Got arrested at an open air concert for making a joke about the crankys shagging when an underage girl asked one of the band to get his kit off. The police stormed the stage and my friend pushed one over and i yelled into the mic "There's better ways to earn minimum wage!"
Started a riot at the uni I work in now, when some dude heckled one fo the band members he said "do you mind mate this is my job" which I quickly follwed up with "yeah he doesn't come round your house and take the cocks out of your mouth while your working!" the whole place errupted he was hitting people to get to the stage and it just turned into a brawl.
Played Hull city hall for the BBC and was told I couldn't swear so I started with the 37dicks song quickly followed with a fan fave "Hot latino pussy" and we were off.
The BBC had us back on a televised talent show under a different name and my guitarist broke a string during the first song so I made a joke about people having 5 mins to get home before the channel 5 movie started which that night was sphere. I then made some crack about dustin hoffman just being rainman in everything since he got the oscar, and did an impression of a retard drowning. The TV feed was cut very short

my drinking was notorious when I was young and into my twenties and umm...early 30's. I was also most likely - no definetly nuts. One typical classic drunken episode - this one happened on my 21st birthday (and I know this only because people constantly reminded me of it- so it must have stood out from my usual shenanigans and if people on the piss in the quarter in New Orleans remember it...well after 25th triple rum and coke in what would be a pint glass (yes the bartender kept a count)and the three bottles of champagne (and I do somewhat remember dancing with the three open bottles) - a friend came up and hugged me and she had a lit cigarette - my hair started smoking - people started hitting me in the head (obviously to put out the fire) but I thought I was being assaulted and fought back.

Ended up being thrown over someone's shoulder and carried the block home to my flat above Checkpoint Charlies on Esplanade - got home and seemingly my old boyfriend and I got into an argument because I had made an ass of myself - which is probably true...in response he took the bottle of 151 Baccardi (fortunately you don't get this over here) he had bought me as gift and poured it down the toilet - I freaked out picked up the bottle smashed it - starting slashing myself with it jumped onto the balcony railing in supposedly just leggings, a bra and bare feet ( still don't know how I got most of my clothes off)- screaming fuck you all - my landlord got involved at this point and his response it seemed was to pull a gun - point it at me threatening to kill me (only in America I tell ya).

Then I ran back down to the club started dancing bleeding everywhere (and I remember none of this). The one thing I do recall is being held down on the bathroom floor by the bartender who was pouring vodka on my arms supposedly to clean the wounds. I have never lived this story down and never will.

well in New Orleans they don't call me crazy Michele for nothing - I don't drink much any more and when I do drink I most definitely don't drink rum - it's really nice bourbon or trappists ales.

as for Jello running for U.S. pres. that might actually be why Holiday in Cambodia is on GH3 - need money for advertising and all the other crap you need to run for office in the states - in 2000 I was going to vote for the green party but wasn't allowed to because supposedly my zip (post) code was wrong (it wasn't) - so were about 100 other mostly Latino people who lived in the same area of Chicago as me. I saw the Surfers on the Independent Worm Saloon tour - and when they came out they seriously slagged off the opening band (Stone Temple PIlots) then said "we're going to go ahead and play it so you can get the fuck out of here" and opened with Who was in my room" - most of the place had cleared out as soon as they finished that song and the next song they played was The Shah sleeps in Lee Harvey's Grave - well that cleared out some more and everyone ran to the front and just went nuts next came Lady Sniff - pretty much everything played after that was from the self- titled lp - Psychic Powerless...and Rembrandt Pussyhorse - absolute divinity yeah

I saw Butthole Surfers in 96 I think maybe 97' and they were awesome.

For me the punk rock scene is so dead right now it really saddens me...
well least lou barlow is back with dinosaur jnr, but still nothing new is coming through that is up to the standards of anything of the past 20 years.

music in general has been dying a death for a long time now - nothing is new and getting old means I've become a bit out of touch with western music, I don't usually bother - eastern europe has some interesting electronic, experimental and indie music but I think the age of creative agression is gone

saw Dinosaur Jr. on the second Lollapolooza tour - have to say they don't translate live very well, mainly his voice - in fact they were booed off the stage - the sky was grey with plastic cups being thrown at them - New Orleans was always a harsh crowd though. Jesus and Mary Chain were another who were poor live

well I am a punker at heart but i find that I enjoy folk and alternative lo-fi music at the moment more as its got more punk at heart than the punk you find at present.

loving bon ivor, national, land of talk and few other lo-fi or folk bands. but their the ones that seem to get most attention on my player.

I'm quite enjoying Korpiklanni Folk rock is so punk :P
